I have heard many a people say that they cannot hear the voice of God. Most often many of us seek from others to know His will or pray for us; not realising that we ourselves hold the key to this door within ourselves. While the prayer of a dear friend or neighbor has immense fuel, God desires as much of an intimate relationship with us than anyone else. One will indeed open the door to this relationship if we set out wholeheartedly.
In this sincere quest to converse with God, we must equip ourselves to face an adventurous journey to master the intricate art of communication. This path demands more than our empty complaints about the silence of God; it calls us to engage in a dedicated and disciplined exercise, a true skill that requires the utmost patience. As if nurturing a cherished relationship, it demands us to invest precious time, drowning into the web of God's preferences and restrictions. To forge a connection, we must be prepared to selflessly offer the very core of our being and condition our hearts to surrender to His will without question.
This is no easy feat; it's a challenging, difficult journey that mirrors the resilience of a gymnast devoted to perfecting her craft. It's about unwavering belief in the process, trusting that through the trials, we will emerge into the light of a profound relationship with our Creator. In His hands lies the manual to unravel the purpose intricately etched into our existence, promising a life brimming with the beauty of divine companionship. Embrace the struggle with unwavering faith, for at the brim of this odyssey, what awaits is not just a connection but a symphony of emotions, a deep and resonating harmony with God and His will.
The process demands only discipline. A daily quiet time completely shut from the noise around us, praying and Holy Spirit guided meditation, studying His word and reflecting on our lives; being open-minded and present in the moment; being patient and trusting the process.
And the fruit of this journey is a new transformed you that shines in the grace of God…
“Then you will come and pray to me, and I will listen” ( Jeremiah 29:12).
